Thanksgiving at Home: Bringing Gratitude and Full Tables to Families in Need
BCM's Thanksgiving at Home volunteer event is making it possible for families we serve to enjoy a traditional holiday meal in the comfort of their own homes. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, families received complete Thanksgiving baskets and gift cards that eased the burden for many low-income working families—especially during the holidays.
Supporters contributed bagged, boxed, jarred, and canned goods—everything needed for a festive meal except the turkey itself. Many donors thoughtfully tucked in gift cards so families could purchase a turkey breast or other special items to round out their dinner. Some donors purchased gift cards to cover entire Thanksgiving meals for 8-10 persons at Aldi and Walmart.
A total of 160 individuals from 53 families in BCM’s Budget for Life and Foundation 3 programs received these Thanksgiving baskets and gift cards. The gratitude from our clients was overwhelming! Families shared how much it means to be able to gather around their own table with for a meal (and leftovers!). All of this is made possible by people who care.
From everyone at BCM and the families we serve: Thank you for your support. Because of you, Thanksgiving feels a little brighter, a little warmer, and a lot more hopeful for dozens of local families. Your kindness truly makes a difference. Happy Thanksgiving!

All Things Great and Small: Volunteering Makes a Difference
In a beautiful expression of faith in action, participants from a local Bible study group recently came together to support BCM Georgia’s Foundation 3™ program. This transformative program helps low-income working families who are homeless or near-homeless establish a strong foundation for long-term stability and self-sufficiency as they move into permanent housing.
With joyful hearts, the group collected an abundance of essential kitchen items—pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and small appliances—along with cleaning supplies such as brooms, mops, detergents, sponges, and organizers. These generous donations provide more than just material help; they offer dignity, comfort, and a true sense of “home” to families during one of the most hopeful yet challenging transitions of their lives.
